Located at Cold Water Canyon, our cross country skiing trails are set amidst forests of towing Norway and White Pines and river canyons, making them some of the most scenic locations for cross country skiing in Wisconsin Dells. Our trails range from beginner to intermediate, so even if someone in your party is brand new to cross country skiing, we have them covered. All-day trail passes for our cross country skiing trails are available for just $7 at Cold Water Canyon Clubhouse.
Showshoeing
Our trails at Cold Water Canyon aren’t just suitable for cross country skiing; they also double as snowshoeing trails. Snowshoeing dates back to 4000 BC and offers a serene experience where you can take in the area’s snow-covered beauty at a leisurely pace. While we don’t have snowshoe rentals available, guests can bring their own and enjoy them on the trails.
Sledding
Experience the exhilarating thrill of sledding at Cold Water Canyon. We have several fantastic snow hills that are perfect for exciting sled rides. Our sledding hills are open on Saturdays during the winter from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., and sleds are available for rent in the clubhouse for $3. Your family won’t want to miss out on this classic winter activity.
Outdoor Hot Springs & Fire Pits
If you need to warm up after enjoying the best winter activities that Wisconsin Dells has to offer, Chula Vista Resort has you covered. Our outdoor hot springs are perfect for warming up and relaxing during any season. Our hot springs are also home to our two-story Adobe fireplace, so even if you’re not in the water, you can warm up. We also have outdoor firepits located across our grounds, where you can stop and enjoy the heat and cackling ambiance.
Winter Things To Do In Wisconsin Dells: Beyond The Resort
If you’re looking to travel off of our grounds, Mirror Lake State Park is a great place for ice fishing, winter hikes, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Snowmobiling is another popular activity; there are several companies that offer snowmobile rentals in the area.
