Fall is officially here! Not to worry, there is still plenty of time left in our season at Cold Water Canyon Gold Course for you to test the waters and try out our course! We encourage new and experienced golfers alike to “play the canyon” at Chula Vista Resort. It’s a great course to hone your skills or learn the basics!

Our PGA Director of Golf, Todd Campbell, offers some tips and tricks for golfing at Cold Water Canyon Golf Course:

Dating back almost 100 years ago, Cold Water Canyon offers a unique experience from its front nine holes. Not many golfers realize that Cold Water Canyon Golf Course’s front nine consists of some of the earliest golf holes built in the state of Wisconsin. C.J. Wilson out of Chicago, IL designed the first nine holes in the early 1920s. The classic design may not be considered very long when considering today’s modern golf holes, but the tree lined fairways and small, target greens make for not only a challenging round of golf but also an enjoyable look back at how golf was first played. The abbreviated length is great for new golfers and the classic style dating back to the dawn of the game suits veteran golfers.

We know gear isn’t everything but we have tons of options to choose from in the Pro Shop. It features a variety of merchandise options for both male and female golf newbies and enthusiasts. The shop is stocked with items from industry leaders including Nike, Adidas, Antigua, Page & Tuttle and Under Armour. If you’re new to the game and you aren’t sure what you’re looking for, we’d be happy to get you outfitted for your outing!

This allows you to improve your skills without worrying about the thickness of your wallet! We understand everyone operates on a different schedule so we offer three different types of memberships: midweek only, weekend only and a full membership which includes every day of the week. The Tavern specializes in its famous Tavern brisket burgers, Friday Night Fish Fry, sandwiches, steaks and more! It’s the perfect place to refuel after a day our on the course. The Tavern also features a Sport Bars where you can hang out with you friends and family, catch up and relax.
