Say Hello to Animals at the Wisconsin Dells Deer Park

The Wisconsin Deer Park is a seasonal attraction that’s less than 20 minutes from our Wisconsin Dells family resort. Visiting this spot is a fun way to sneak in a bit of learning on your spring break getaway or summer vacation. For over five decades, the unique attraction has given visitors of all ages a chance to enjoy an up-close experience with deer and other wildlife. The park is typically open from mid-April through late October, but weather can impact this, so we recommend calling if you’re planning on visiting early or late in the season.

During your visit to the hands-on, educational petting zoo, you can feed the deer by hand, pet other animals, and enjoy a day out in nature. Stroll along the well-groomed trails, and you’ll see a number of wildlife species, like white-tailed deer, American elk, American vision, goats, llamas, and European Fallow deer.

The main feeding area is home to Virginia white-tailed deer, which are found throughout much of the Midwest. A second feeding area lets visitors get up close and personal with European fallow deer, which have antlers like a moose. You can purchase deer-safe food at the gift shop or feeding station along the trail.
