Wisconsin Dells might be known as the "waterpark capital of the world," but this fantastic vacation destination has much more to offer outside of wet and wild fun. This region was carved by glaciers, producing sandstone formations that look out of this world to go along with towering forests and tranquil rivers and lakes. With so many natural amenities, it's only natural to want to get outdoors to explore all that Wisconsin Dells has to offer.

In the Wisconsin Dells area, hiking opportunities are aplenty. In fact, right on our grounds, you can enjoy a delightful walk. Head to our scenic riverwalk and enjoy a stroll along the Wisconsin River. Here, you'll be surrounded by Norway and White Pine Trees, immersing yourself in a beautiful natural setting.

Off of Chula Vista property, there are more trails to explore. Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area is just a short drive away from the resort, and it is home to a myriad of trails that will take you along the river and let you take in stunning rock formations. For an easy hike, we recommend the Chapel Gorge Trail, a 1.8-mile loop with beautiful scenery and a quaint beach. Bring your dog along; this is a dog-friendly place as long as your pup is on a leash.

As with hiking, there's an abundance of bike trails near Wisconsin Dells. Lake Delton is a great place to start; this area has miles of bike lanes and bike paths to ride. Before you go, be sure to check out the map of the bike trails and make a note of the multi-use path. You'll likely encounter walkers, runners, and dog walkers on the multi-use path; pass on the left and announce your intention to pass before moving over.

Mirror Lake State Park is another excellent place to go for biking near Wisconsin Dells. Located just 20 minutes from the resort, Mirror Lake State Park is a hub for all sorts of outdoor recreation. There are nine miles of biking trails to cruise, but we recommend the Fern Dell Trail, a three-mile loop trail that's an easy ride. Keep in mind that the bike trails at Mirror Lake State Park aren't paved.
