How Our Wisconsin Dells Resort Is Supporting a Local Food Pantry

While the holiday season is a great time for gift-giving and receiving, it’s also a time of year known for giving back. Whether it's volunteering for a local organization or raising money for a charity that’s near and dear to your heart, there are endless ways to give back. Another great option is to participate in a food drive. This year, Chula Vista Resort is getting into the holiday spirit with the launch of the Plate It Forward Project. Keep reading to learn how you and other guests at our Wisconsin Dells resort can help a local food pantry.
What Is The Plate It Forward Project?
The Plate It Forward Project is an initiative to support the Central Wisconsin Community Action Council’s Food Pantry. This service provides food to families in nearby counties, such as Adams, Columbia, Dodge, Sauk, and Waushara.
In addition to food donated by guests and others, we are committed to matching it pound-for-pound. This will help amplify the impact, allowing us to help even more community members who are facing food insecurity.
Taking part is easy. Simply bring donations to the collection points in the hotel lobby when you arrive. Guests who contribute will receive a discount on a resort package offer, while non-resort guests will receive discounts on waterpark passes. In order to receive the guest discount, you must bring at least 10 non-perishable items to check in. Those visiting our hotel but not staying here will receive $1 off waterpark day passes for every two items donated to the waterpark front desk.
Some great non-perishable items include:
- Canned tuna
- Peanut butter
- Rice
- Oats
- Canned vegetables
- Chili
- Pasta
- Granola bars
- Trail mix
- Flour
- Dried spices
